Well, the long and short of it is not too much.
Malachi...
Soccer is over for the season and I think it's highly unlikely my sweet little daydreamer is going to play again. So much for my dream of being a soccer mom, driving around in my fancy SUV with a big STING decal dashing from game to game, cheering on my star player and BSing with the gals. Ah, not my style anyway.
School is almost over as well, which I think I am more excited about than he is. I am so lucky he is so stinking bright that I don't have to really worry too much about him in school (yet). He's known the kindergarten curriculum since day one. He reads phenomenally well and comprehends way above his age. I guess that is a blessing and a curse. Being outsmarted by a five year old, especially when you consider yourself fairly bright, is somewhat unnerving.
Lucas...
Ah Lucas... why do these boys both have to be so sweet that it makes me want to go back on my promise to Chad to be done after two babies? I sat and watched him sleep for quite awhile today. I remember doing that with Malachi several times. Today, though, the song "You're gonna miss this" kept playing over and over in my mind. It's true. I already miss this. It's one of those double edged swords, I love him being little, but at the same time, I can't wait to do all the fun stuff I get to do with Malachi again. He has started signing "milk" and I feel like it's the first thing I've really ever taught him. Hell, with an older brother like Kai, it might be the only thing I ever get to teach him. Either way, I am going to enjoy the heck out of him.

Blogging Slacker, Maui, and Baby Teeth
So blogging just might not be my thing... it's been almost a month and I've totally forgotten to post anything. So, what's new with the boys??? Malachi is reading at about a 4th grade level, playing soccer, and still in swimming lessons, although him being smarter than about all his teachers makes things interesting. Lucas is sitting up, got two teeth last week while we had him in Maui, says Daddy (much to my dismay) and is generally sweet and cute. Chad, Luke, and I went with my friends Lacy and Scott to Maui last week and had a great time. Luke got to swim in the ocean, see a volcano (he was so excited he slept the whole time), went wine tasting, and visited the seven sacred pools after going on a four mile hike to a beautiful waterfall. I will have to post pictures later after I get them off of photobucket, but hey, a post is a start.

Its my baby's half-birthday--well yesterday!
Well, yesterday Luke turned six months! I can't believe how fast it has gone! He has got to be the happiest baby I've ever met (except when it's time for bed). We've had fun taking pictures of the boys together, so I thought I would post some from the last week or so.
Today it was 70 degrees, so Malachi and I ventured outside to do some yardwork after his soccer games. He drove his tractor and I filled his trailer full of pinecones and needles and he dumped it for me in the pile. We had quite a good system down, until the baby woke up :).
Ok, now for the pictures:

Spring Break!!
So Malachi's spring break this year was spent with our foster kids, Jaden and Louie. Their current foster parents had to go out of town, so they were with us for ten days. We had a blast! The last day, Louie turned 3, so we had a big party at Triple Play for him and some friends. He actually was feeling kind of sick, so he didn't have the best time, but he did like his presents and especially his cake!! It was hard to let them go home today. I miss them terribly.

Waiting for a cab...
So I have to write this down so that I don't forget it...
Thursday night Malachi and Luke spent the day with Maureen, the nanny. Maureen bought Malachi a kite that he proceed to leave at Auntie's house. I have been reading a book called "Love and Logic" and so I decided to use some of the tools in the book when he began to beg me (when we were almost home) to turn around and go get the kite. After about the tenth "no", I told him he could take a cab and go get the kite if it was that important to him. (I thought he'd say "no way" and we'd be done with it right then and there). But no, my stubborn little boy said "okay, will you call one for me?". Now he had me on the spot. "Ok", I said. So we get home and he makes me call the cab company (aka daddy with an accent). The "cab driver" tells him it will cost $30.00 round trip. He digs in his piggy bank and since he can't count money yet, thinks he has enough. When we tell him he doesn't, he wants to call the cab driver back and see if he can sell any of his toys to make up the difference. ARE YOU KIDDING ME KID, GIVE IT UP!! But no, we call back. The cab driver mysteriously knows he has a nice pair of skis and a leapster and agrees to take these in exchange for the ride. But all this is taking a long time and it is getting late. I then implement plan B and tell him that our door closes at 9pm and if he's not back, he won't be getting back in for the night. It is after 8, I tell him he won't make it. He tells me he'll stay at Aunties. I tell him he'll have to catch a bus to school. He gets some clothes for the morning. SERIOUSLY. So time goes on while he looks for his leapster... it approaches 9pm, I try telling him Auntie's door will also be closed and locked at 9pm and he'll have to sleep on her porch (thinking he's gonna bag the whole idea). Nope, he gets his tent. Chad and I are thinking "Is this kid for real?" For every idea we have, he has a response. It is getting ridiculous, but we were determined not to let him know we were bluffing when we said the cab was on the way.
So Chad tells him he'll have to wait on the porch for the cab to come. He goes outside (now normally, this kid won't even set foot outside without one of us, so we were baffled that he would do all this for a $5 kite). Now mind you, he is wearing short sleeved pajamas, no shoes, he has his school clothes for tomorrow, his skis and boots, and all the change from his piggy bank and standing on my porch shivering. He rings the doorbell and asks daddy for something, but doesn't say anything about coming in... he rings again... and again, but still doesn't come in. Finally, I tell him he has to stop ringing the doorbell because it is going to wake up the baby. He obliges and continues to stand outside. RIDICULOUS. Finally after what feels like forever, he gets tired of waiting for the cab (who has had a flat tire and is taking longer than normal) and comes in. PHEW.
